No matter how clichéd it gets, it will still be true to say that Blogging is a tool to express yourself on the web.
Put your heart out in the form of words and people will read and appreciate the wisdom you share with the world.
There is a phase in the life of a blogger where a simple comment like ‘nice post’ makes them the happiest person on earth, because, well, who doesn’t want appreciation for their work.
But sadly, when you start to get more of these comments, mainly on posts that are not reverent, you finally start to understand how the internet works.
People comment on your post because of the ‘Website’ field in your comment form, because, well, who doesn’t want to get their blog read.
I have always felt that it is okay to promote your site using comments, in fact, I have been doing that myself from years. But I believe in adding value to the post and writing a thoughtful comment on the posts.
If the writer has spent hours writing that post, we should at least spend few minutes to comment on it rather than posting ‘nice post’ amazingly written post’.
Being a blogger myself, I keep getting such comments on my posts as well and I simply trash them away when the Gravatar has a human face on it, otherwise it goes to spam, so that I don’t get a comment from that person/bot.
But spammers have become smart over the time and I tend to get 4 to 5 comments in a week that show up in the ‘pending comments’ tab in WordPress, despite installing Akisment, which is an amazing spam comment protector and detects over 100s of spam comments on my blog.
These comments are so creative that it is very tough to figure out they are spam comments.

Note: Make sure you always go through the ‘spam comments’ just in case a thoughtful comment mistakenly gets into spam. Tools are great but not perfect.
